Post-Jam Bug Fixes
Spidar » Devlog
Since we’ve done quite a lot of bugfixing since the jam’s deadline, I decided to compile the changes here! Every change was done only to correct bugs as stated in the rules, but really helped us get to the experience we wanted the player to have.
List of changes (Mostly in order of importance, but also chronologically):
- Added support for lower resolution screens. The game may look worse on them though.
- Fixed power up timers being off-screen.
- Fixed bees despawning instantly on the deeper loops.
- Fixed attack collisions that had their hitboxes really far away due to my poor math skills.
- Fixed the cookie at the end of the game not being able to be picked up due to collision issues.
- Fixed some sounds not playing if another sound is already playing.
- Fixed some damage visuals not rendering properly.
- Fixed garlic update’s range not being applied.
- Removed the 100 initial gold we used for debug that accidentally ended up on the jam build lol we’re dumb.
- Removed it again. Because it happened to us again.
- Fixed changing loop’s equation. It should be less “headachy” now due to random noise not being applied randomly.
- Fixed charging power up sounds playing even if you haven’t bough the power up yet.
So yeah, lots of fixes. The game was playable before but a bunch of things weren’t working as intended. Leaving this here as a note to be clear about everything we did after submitting the jam build. Thanks a lot to Brackeys for allowing us to clean up the code a little post jam, we really needed that.
